The Plymouth Common Council heard the first reading of an ordinance setting the salaries of appointed officers, employees, fire, and police personnel on the first reading Monday evening.

The ordinance proposes a 3% across-the-board raise for all full-time and part-time positions in the city next year.

On Tuesday’s “What’s Your Opinion Show”, when asked about the proposed increase Mayor Mark Senter said, “Right now it is 3% with many unknowns.  We will be looking at it later on like we did last year when we added 2½% to the salaries beginning on July 1st.”   He continued, “With the way things are with the cost of living that people are going through right now, I can’t imagine us lowering it but I can see us raising that.”
