Purdue University Extension and Michigan State University Extension are hosting Fruit and Vegetable tours for area farmers. The events are held monthly on Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m.
On July 14th, the tour features a local grower, Norman Mullet, from Bremen. Norman’s focus is on organic produce, production, and marketing. The Mullet farm is located at 2501 3B Road in Bremen.
On August 11th the tour will be held at the David Schrock Farm at 4570 N 100 E in Lagrange and the discussion will be on Diseases.
The September 8th meeting will discuss Insect Control at the Fruit Hills Winery at 55503 State Road 15 in Bristol while the final tour on October 13th will be on Winterizing and Storage of Produce. The location is yet to be determined.
