State Representative Jack Jordan (R-Bremen) provided the following statement Thursday after Governor Eric Holcomb announced his plan to call state lawmakers back to the Statehouse for a special session to provide inflation relief to Hoosier taxpayers:

“Democrat policies are simply out of touch with everyday Hoosiers and Americans, and we’re seeing the results through record-high inflation and gas prices. Reduced buying power and increased costs are a top concern I hear from constituents and businesses alike. This year, Indiana’s strong economy positioned us to pass a $1 billion tax-cut package to reduce Hoosiers’ income taxes and utility costs. We also returned $545 million through automatic taxpayer refunds. I support the governor’s call to issue an additional $1 billion in taxpayer refunds to provide some much-needed inflation relief.”
