Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Superior Construction Co will begin a bridge deck overlay project on State Road 23 over Mishawaka Ave and State Road 933 on or after Monday, May 16.
During phase one, traffic will utilize the outside right lanes of State Road 23 for approximately two weeks while the inside left lanes are closed to install median crossovers for future phases of work. When the crossovers are complete, the southbound lanes will be converted to two-way traffic while work occurs in the northbound lanes for phase two. Work will then move to the southbound lanes, with northbound State Road 23 converted to two-way traffic.
This project will be ongoing through early September. INDOT encourages drivers to allow extra time when driving through this area and follow traffic directions carefully. Motorists should slow down, exercise caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
