The Plymouth Community School Board approved an agreement with Solar Energy Systems from Nappanee to construct two solar array systems for the corporation.  Washington Discovery Academy and Riverside Intermediate School will each have a working solar array on their properties.  The energy generated will be used by the schools.

Dave Schoof, Director of Operations for the Plymouth School Corporation presented the three bids received on April 26th to the board.  GRNE Solar bid $1,788,000.  Martell Electric bid $1,452,630 and the low bid was from Solar Energy Systems at $1,308,405.18.

Bruce Breeden from Telamon Energy Solutions said once the board selected a company, Telamon would work at getting the price reduced due to the combined projects and also value engineering suggestions.  The bid is under the proposed budget of $1.5 million.

Tuesday evening Breeden asked the school board to approve the hiring of Solar Energy Systems and authorized the superintendent to sign the contracts before their next meeting in June thus allowing Solar Energy Systems to order material and move forward with the project.   The school board approved moving forward and allowing Mr. Mawhorter to sign contracts.
