U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.), co-chair of the bipartisan Congressional Caucus on Poland, today sent a letter to Ambassador Marek Magierowski, the Polish Ambassador to the United States, praising Poland’s humanitarian response to Ukrainians fleeing Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked war and offering support.

“Like so many across the Free World, I have been amazed and inspired by Poland’s great humanitarian response to your Ukrainian neighbors fleeing Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked war. Your people’s generous spirit, service, and resolve are saving lives during this violent invasion,” wrote Congresswoman Walorski. “Amidst devastating destruction, Poles shine as a bright light in the darkness.”

Congresswoman Walorski, who served as a missionary in Romania alongside her husband after the fall of the Soviet Union, strongly supports democracy in Eastern Europe as well as a robust NATO alliance. Given Poland’s proximity to Ukraine, this nation has served as a lifeline to vulnerable Ukrainians fleeing Putin’s deadly assault.

On behalf of Hoosiers, Congresswoman Walorski offered continued partnership in Poland’s ongoing humanitarian efforts for Ukrainians and thanked Poles for their support of freedom.

Congresswoman Walorski has condemned Putin’s war on Ukraine, and she also has co-sponsored key legislation to expand crippling sanctions on Russia, provide lethal and humanitarian aid to Ukrainians, and strengthen America’s preparedness to confront 21st century threats.

Embassy of the Republic of Poland

Washington, DC 20009

Dear Ambassador Magierowski,

Like so many across the Free World, I have been amazed and inspired by Poland’s great humanitarian response to your Ukrainian neighbors fleeing Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked war. Your people’s generous spirit, service, and resolve are saving lives during this violent invasion. Amidst devastating destruction, Poles shine as a bright light in the darkness.

As Putin continues his reprehensible attacks on innocent civilians, America stands united with our allies to assist Ukrainians in need. In addition to our unwavering support of NATO, America has committed to send additional humanitarian and lethal aid to Ukraine’s valiant fighters – as well as direct resources for Poland’s vast humanitarian operation.

As we have discussed, Hoosiers are blessed to have deep roots in the Polish community, and we take great pride in your nation’s heroic response to this conflict. Americans in Indiana and across the country stand with Poland in your vital efforts to feed the hungry, care for the hurting, and shelter the vulnerable.

Thank you for your steadfast commitment to freedom and to humanity. I look forward to our nations’ continued partnership to end suffering and promote peace.
