Richard “Dick” Lee Ecker, age 93 of Plymouth, IN, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN.

Dick was born to Benjamin and Myrtle (Crites) Ecker on September 25, 1928 in Grovertown, IN. He graduated from Grovertown High School in 1947. He married Geneal Dunnuck on September 7, 1951 and they have been married for 70 years. He worked at Stafford Smith Refrigeration and Cooling as a commercial heating and cooling technician. He was a member of the Plumber and Pipe Fitters Union, a member of the Plymouth Church of the Brethren, and a member of the Marshall County Posse and Reserves for many years. He enjoyed camping, raising horses and trail riding, traveling, making people laugh with his jokes, (usually ones he read in the Reader’s Digest), playing cards, volunteering and helping others in his spare time.

Dick is survived by his sons: Jerry (Ruth) Ecker of Plymouth, IN; Keith Ecker of Cicero, IN; his grandchildren: Kerrie (Nick) Bond; Jessica (Dana) Sigler; his great-grandchildren: Madison; Zander and Oscar; along with many nieces and nephews.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter-in-law, Jeanne Ecker; four sisters and two brothers.

Memorial donations may be made to the Plymouth Church of the Brethren (1130 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, IN 46563).

A private graveside service will be held at the New Oak Hill Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Tom Anders officiating.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Plymouth Church of the Brethren. Friends and family are welcome to join this celebration.
