Norman L. Nifong, 87, of Plymouth passed away peacefully on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Life Care Center of Rochester.

Born on November 21, 1934 in Plymouth, Indiana he was the son of Walter and Lavon (Eaglebarger) Nifong. He attended Bourbon High School graduating with the class of 1952. Norman proudly served his country in the Army.

He started dating this wonderful lady Betty at the age of 16, they would go on double dates with other couples for awhile before they decided to go off on their own. On May 20, 1956 they were married at Mt. Pleasant Church in Bourbon. They would share 65 years of blissful marriage and never had a coarse word to say at each other.

Norman and Betty would own and run multiple Super Wash Car Washes throughout the area and still continue to serve the community. He was known as a faithful, calm, caring, thoughtful and warm gentleman that loved his family. Norman would do just about anything for anyone, always willing to help and lend a hand.

He enjoyed traveling, especially with his motorcycle group. Norman never went without owning a convertible. He was very involved with his church and was even asked to step in a give the sermon when needed. His family will always remember him for his faithfulness to God and his family.

He is survived by his wife Betty of Bourbon; daughter Holly (Mark) Lindsey of Bremen; daughter-in-law Laura Nifong; brother Floyd (Ruth) Nifong of Plymouth; sister Lorna Cooksey of LaPorte; grandchildren: Brittany (Gary) Neff of Bourbon; Heather Nifong and John Eddins of Columbus, IN; Holly (Josh) Cornett of Koontz Lake; Cheyenne (Nate) Shaffer of North Webster, IN; Corynne (Zack) Renner of Bremen; Camden Lindsey and Renata Cunningham of Mishawaka; Bailey Nifong of Niles, MI; 10 great-grandchildren.

Norman is preceded in death by his parents, son Bric and brother Roger.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 4-7 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 11 am with Pastor Joel DeSelem officiating. Burial will take place in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bourbon.
