Dr. Harry Eugene Sponseller “Gene” passed away on February 2, 2022 at the age of 93 in Miller’s Merry Manor.

 Gene was born in Etna Green, IN on December 18, 1928 to Harry and Della Sponseller. He was an only child. He and his family have lived in Plymouth, IN since 1961. He graduated Etna Green High School and received a teaching degree from North Manchester College. He taught elementary school in Bremen, IN for 4 years. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he returned to school and graduated from Indiana University Dental School in 1961. He then set up practice in Plymouth, IN, where he practiced dentistry for over 40 years. His patients became a second family over the years. Gene served on the Marshall County Board of Health and treated inmates from the County Jail when needed. He also loved to play golf and taste wines from all around the world.

 Gene is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sharrel L. Sponseller; his son, Gene (Sharon) Sponseller; his daughter, Stephanie Sponseller; grandchildren: Brittany Sponseller; Eric Sponseller; Stephen Sponseller and Brandon McNeely.

 His parents, Harry and Della Sponseller preceded Gene in death.
