The Plymouth Community School Board conducted their regular monthly meeting Tuesday, February 1st in the administration board room.

One agenda item was the adoption of the 2022-23 Transfer Student Capacity and Deadlines.

Superintendent Mitch Mawhorter said, “Each year the state makes each school district declare their intentions on the acceptance of transfer students.”  He said the deadline to transfer will be June 1, 2023.  The capacities were established by the School Board Tuesday evening.  The proposal was for 325 students for kindergarten and 325 students per grade level in grades 1st through 8th grades and an unlimited amount in the high school.

The proposal said, “If the total number of students requesting to transfer to Plymouth Community School Corporation does not exceed the capacity-per-grade-level that has been established and published by the Board, students will be recommended for acceptance at the Board meeting immediately after receipt of their application.”    If the total number of students requesting to transfer to the Plymouth School Corporation exceeds the capacity per grade level, a lottery will be held to determine the students to be recommended for acceptance.

The Plymouth School Board unanimously adopted the Transfer policy.
