Candidates continue to file their intentions for the May Primary.

There are lots of new filings. The Republicans now have three candidates for Clerk of the Courts: Ann Anglin, Jenny Bennitt and Joy Hensley.  All the County Council seats including Districts 1,2,3, and 4 are currently held by Republicans and they all have challengers.  In District 1 Heath Thornton the incumbent will be challenged by William Patterson. In District 2 Mandy Campbell the incumbent will be challenged by Deborah Johnson. In District 3 the incumbent Jon VanVactor will be challenged by Nicole Cox and in District 4 Steve Harper the incumbent will be challenged by Adam Faulstich. 

For Town Council Seats, Les McFarland (R) has filed to retain his seat on the Bourbon Town Council. 

Township Trustees are also up for election this year.  Emily Haskins filed her intention for the North Township Trustee seat and Michael Norris has filed for the Polk Township Trustee seat challenging incumbent Jerry Lamb. 

The Township Board members are also up for election and several more have filed including a couple Democrats.  Each board has three members.  The new fillings are Whitney Stillson (D) for German Township Board, Cindy Martin Milner (D) for Center Township Board, Michael Overmyer (R) for Union Township Board, David Stults (R) for Walnut Township Board and Shawnda Wenino (R) for Green Township Board. 

While Jackie Walorski (R) has filed to keep her seat as United States representative in the 2nd District, two Democrats will face off in the primary to challenge her in the General Election. Those two democrats are Stephen Kurant and Paul Steury.

Todd Young wants to remain as a U.S. Senator for Indiana.  The Democrats have filed two candidates for the May primary to challenge him in the General Election. Those Democrats are Valerie McCray and Thomas McDermott. 

Also on the May Primary ballot will be Precinct Committeemen.  Whitney Stillson (D) has filed for the German 1 democrat precinct committeeman and Michael Leda (D) has filed for Polk 1 democratic precinct committeeman.  

The May ballot will also include choices for Convention Delegates.  New fillings are Deborah Carmean-Johnson (R), Michael Leda (D), Paul Levett (R), Shawne Peterson (R), Stephanie Peverelle (D), Samuel Schlosser (R), and Laura Vervynckt (R). 

Candidates have until noon on Friday, February 4th to file.
