KNOX CITY HALL CLOSURE
Due to the winter weather system affecting our area this week, Knox City Hall will be closed
beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 through Thursday, February 3, Offices will re-open on Friday, February 4th. This closure is not only for the safety of
our residents, but also our employees during this extreme weather event.


It is highly recommended that residents do not venture outside or drive unless it is
absolutely necessary. City plow trucks will be working hard to clear the streets, please
remove parked vehicles from the streets if possible.


Please be sure to bring your pets inside and check on your neighbors, especially the elderly
over the next few days.


Our utility and street department crews will be on stand-by. If you have a Street, Sewer or
Water Department emergency, please call the Starke County Sheriff’s office at 772-3771
and our crews will be notified immediately.

TRASH PICK-UP – Republic Services
Trash and recycle services for Thursday, Feb 3rd have been cancelled. We will keep you
advised of the schedule changes.


FREEZE WARNING
The City of Knox has issued a Freeze Warning for all water customers. Due to the freezing
temperatures, it is recommended that residents leave cold water running from a faucet
(preferably the bathtub faucet) the size of a pencil lead until February 23rd. Customers will
be charged their average bill during this order only. To prevent drafts from entering the
home and help protect exposed water pipes, please keep crawlspace doors and openings
closed.
