Members of the Bourbon and Tippecanoe Fire Departments along with officers of the Bourbon Police Department gathered on Saturday morning at the Bourbon Fire Station for training on the recently purchased LUCAS 3 Automated CPR Devices.

Strycker Medical Representative, Pierce Szubelak provided training to firefighters and police on the LUCAS 3. LUCAS 3 CPR device provides consistent, non-stop and effective CPR to patients suffering from a life threatening cardiac event. The LUCAS device allows responders to focus on other life saving measures and uninterrupted CPR to the patient at the scene and during transport to the hospital.

The Bourbon Town Council recently approved the purchase of the devices utilizing funds from the American Recovery Plan (ARP).

At the conclusion of Saturday’s training, the devices were deployed to serve the citizens of Bourbon and Tippecanoe.
