Marshall County Coroner John Grolich and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a fatal accident involving a vehicle and a train.
The coroner said the accident happened a little after 4 p.m. Monday at Quince and First Roads. A south bound vehicle failed to stop at the railroad crossing and a west bound train crashed into the driver’s side killing the occupant.
The coroner is not releasing any additional information until the family can be notified.
Assisting at the scene were Polk Township Fire, Walkerton EMS and Union North Ambulance Service.
