Plymouth City Councilman Don Ecker told Mayor Senter and Common Council members he would like to bring back the discussion of not allowing parking in front yards in 2022.

Ecker said vehicles parking in yards and on the grassy lawns devalues properties.  He says he understands it is a sensitive subject especially when talking to landlords, but they too should be concerned about the values of their rental properties.

While Ecker wasn’t looking for any discussion during Monday’s meeting, he said he was hopeful the Common Council will look at the issue again in 2022.

The Plymouth Common Council discussed the issue in the fall of 2020 and heard from a number of residents who were opposed and from some who were supportive.
