State Senator Ryan Mishler (R-Bremen), chair of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, made the following statement regarding the revenue forecast announced Thursday:

“Our state is currently on sound fiscal footing, and I’m pleased to receive another positive revenue forecast. Indiana’s strong economic performance puts us in an enviable position to pay down historic amounts of state debt, which ultimately saves taxpayers money. Even amid this positive economic picture, we have the obligation to continue making sustainable spending decisions as we plan for Indiana’s future, and I believe those types of discussions will be most appropriate in the context of the next state budget.”
