Lynn M. Gorski announced Tuesday her candidacy for the upcoming caucus to complete the unfulfilled term of retiring City of Plymouth Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine M. Xaver.  The City of Plymouth Clerk-Treasurer serves as the fiscal officer of the city.  She also serves as the secretary and record-keeper for the Common Council and also performs those functions for the Board of Public Works and Safety.  The Clerk-Treasurer has the responsibility to keep records of the council proceedings including the recording of all notes, and preserving all papers relating to its business; present ordinances, orders or resolutions to the mayor for approval; prepare and keep an ordinance book; have charge of all documents and books entrusted to her by statute or ordinance; administer oaths when necessary in the discharge of the clerk’s duties; and keep the city seal. 

Gorski has worked for the City of Plymouth Clerk-Treasurer’s office from June 1992 through May 2007 and most recently started working in the Clerk-Treasurer’s office as Payroll Coordinator.  In 1992 she served as the Accounts Receivable Clerk for the former Clerk-Treasurer Beverly Curtis and in 1996 became the Utility Clerk when former Clerk Treasurer Toni Hutchings was elected.   

Gorski is looking forward to the challenges facing the Office of the Clerk-Treasurer and continuing her service to the citizens and employees of the City of Plymouth as Clerk-Treasurer.

Gorski has been a resident of the Plymouth community since grade school.  She graduated from Plymouth High School and earned her Associates Degree from Ancilla Domini College. 

Gorski lives in Plymouth with her husband Steve and has two adult children Samantha (Brian) Gardner of Plymouth and Thomas (Emma) Gorski of Sheridan along with a granddaughter in Plymouth.
