On Friday, December 03, at approximately 9:53 in the morning, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department obtained a report of an injury accident at the intersection of Michigan Road and US 6.
Officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, LaPaz EMS and Fire responded to the scene. It was found that Siarra Pontius, age 19, of Elkhart was traveling southbound on Michigan Road in a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu and was stopped in the roadway.
Kim L. Ols, 51, of Lakeville was driving a 2003 Ford 250 and did not see that the vehicle was stopped. The pickup ran into the back of stopped vehicle.
Siarra Pontius was treated at the scene and transported to Memorial Hospital, located in South Bend.
