Robert D “Bob” Beatty, 95, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Indiana University Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
A lifetime Plymouth resident, Bob was born March 13, 1926 to Sylvester and Esther (Holem) Beatty. He was a West High Bulldog excelling in softball and basketball, graduating in 1944.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Bob married Elizabeth Gurthet in August 1957.
He was a 50-year member of the Plymouth-Kilwinning Lodge #149 and a 60-year member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was an avid sports fan and bridge player. Bob was a loyal supporter of Plymouth High School Sports for more than 60 yrs. He also served several terms as Marshall County Assessor.
He is survived by his children: Brian Beatty of Houston, TX; Becky Brodner of Lake Geneva, WI. and Brad (Erin) Beatty of Etna Green, IN; grandchildren: John (Savanna) Brodner, Emily Brodner, Erica Beatty, Brooklyn (Colten) Cox, and Elizabeth Beatty; great grandchildren: Remington and Jaxon Brodner, Kaycee Beatty-Hamblin, Kayden Beatty, and Kora Cox, as well as his loving companion Jean Hoover, and her caring daughter Teri Cummings.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Betty, November 27, 2012, his parents, and siblings: Arvada Goodyear, Ruth Samuelson, Paul, Ray, Ward, Harold, and Carson Beatty.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Masonic Rites will be rendered at 7 p.m. with Plymouth-Kilwinning Lodge #149.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 425 S. Michigan St. Plymouth, IN 46563 with Pastor Kayla Grehl officiating. Visitation will resume one hour prior.
Burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
