Last week the Marshall County Commissioners opened demolition bids for the County’s Unsafe Building Board.

The demolition is for the property located at 590 to 600 West Jefferson Street in Culver.  Commissioner Kevin Overmyer explained that the building was partially burnt last year and the owner hasn’t responded to the Unsafe Building Board’s request to make improvements.

The property bids were opened for is owned by Larry and Anita Boetsma according to the county’s GIS.

Two companies provided bids for the demolition project: Langfeldt Excavating for $6,060 and Jerry Reed Excavating at $6,000.  The bids were taken under advisement.

The Unsafe Building Board will meet Tuesday, November 23rd and select the company who will complete the work.
