On Saturday, November 13th at approximately 7:20 in the evening Officer Arnold with the Plymouth Police Department responded to the report of an argument between a male subject and an employee of the Red D Mart gas station at 422 North Michigan Street.

Arriving on the scene an investigation was started.  Derrell Price II, 43, of Plymouth became the subject of a drug sales investigation. Mr. Price fled from officers on foot and entered the Yellow River.  He eventually exited the Yellow River and surrendered to officers and was taken in custody.

At the time of the incident Mr. Price had provided false information and his identity was unknown. During further investigation, Mr. Price’s identity was discovered, and officers found he had two 2016 outstanding warrants from Cass County.

Derrell Price II was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Dealing in Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Obstruction of Justice, False Identity statements, False Informing, and the outstanding Cass County warrants. 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
