Wednesday night just before 9 Plymouth Police and Medics were dispatched to 1830 North Michigan Street, in front of Grace Baptist School in regard to an unconscious male.

After the male, 39-year-old Joshua McCarty of Plymouth was checked by medical personnel he was transported to the Marshall County Jail.  While enroute to the jail, McCarty became belligerent and started threatening Plymouth Police Officer David Finn. After arriving at the jail, McCarty then became combative.

McCarty was booked into the jail for charges of Battery on a Public Service Official, Intimidation and Public Intoxication.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
