On Saturday, November 6th at approximately 3:13 in the morning the Starke County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a serious crash on U.S. 30 and 1200 East. 

As Starke County Officers arrived on the scene it was discovered that a vehicle and semi with a trailer were involved.  The preliminary investigation shows an eastbound 2017 Chevrolet Impala driven by Aubry Carter, 30, from Walkerton was traveling east in the westbound lanes of U.S. 30. 

She collided with a Volvo semi who was traveling west in the westbound lanes driven by Matthew Tule, 39, from Ft Wayne.   The vehicles then collided head on causing extreme damage to both vehicles. 

The passenger vehicle had 2 passengers, 28-year-old Chelsea Clingenpeel from North Liberty and Henry Clark ,25, from Walkerton.  All occupants within the passenger were flown to South Bend Memorial Hospital. 

The driver of the semi was uninjured. 

The Starke County’s Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Lutheran Air, Koontz Lake Fire, Hamlet Fire, Indiana State Police, Howards Towing, and Bettcher’s towing.
