U.S. Representative Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) Tuesday joined GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy and several colleagues for a roundtable discussion on the Democrats’ scheme to destroy jobs, raise taxes, and burden small and local businesses. During the conversation, Congresswoman Walorski exposed the ramifications of President Biden’s supply chain bottlenecks and workforce shortages on hardworking Hoosiers, as well as the potential consequences of the Democrats’ socialist spending spree.

“The decisions that the Biden Administration has made are not good for my district and they are not good for manufacturing,” said Congresswoman Walorski. “…Republicans are going to put the American worker at the top of the top – and not the bottom of the bottom. I have never seen what’s going on right now, the fear in the American worker. They feel that the country has turned on them, and obviously the Biden Administration has led the way.

BACKGROUND:

Home to the robust RV manufacturing industry, Indiana’s 2nd District is a manufacturing powerhouse and major economic center.

The Democrats’ socialist tax and spend spree includes Democrats’ proposals to limit the 20 percent pass-through deduction, which would have a profoundly negative effect on small businesses that utilize this incentive. Combined with additional tax hikes, certain small businesses could face a federal effective tax rate close to 50 percent. This legislation would be devastating to Indiana’s economy and workforce.

Congresswoman Walorski, a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and the Republican Leader of the Subcommittee on Worker and Family Support, is a strong supporter of commonsense reforms to support the American worker and reduce barriers to success.
