The Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals approved a variance of development standards for Matthew and Alicia Davis during their meeting Tuesday evening.

The Davis’ purchased the Standard Plumbing building at 105 West LaPorte Street and plan to create a women’s boutique at the location.  The variance request is for an exterior, hanging sign that would extend 3-feet instead of the standard of 2-feet from the exterior wall.  The sign would be installed higher than the 8 feet standard.

It was noted that the sign could not be illuminated from the inside or from lights on the exterior.

The sign example presented to the Plymouth BZA was round and would have a different logo.

During the public hearing Don Wendel representing The REES spoke in favor of the variance request.

The BZA unanimously approved the variance request.
