On Monday, October 11, the Bourbon Board of Zoning Appeals will meet at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall. This meeting will be the last chance for Suzanne Afolabi and her family to receive a variance allowing them to keep their temporary housing; an RV, provided by their insurance company, that the family has parked on their property.
The Libertarian Party of Marshall County has stepped up to try and help the Afolabi family on this issue. LPIN Chair Evan McMahon calls it “typical of a cold, callous local government.” This is the kind of government, he says, “who looks at a rule and says we can’t have human decency or compassion.”
Anthony Hutchinson, Vice Chair of the Libertarian Party of Marshall County said, “Now is the time for the community to rally together in an effort to get the Bourbon Zoning Board to do the right thing. Now is the time for action.”
The Libertarian Party of Marshall County is asking Marshall County residents, and particularly residents of the Town of Bourbon, to attend the meeting on Monday, October 11, at 7 PM. The meeting will take place at the Bourbon Town Hall located at 104 East Park Avenue.
Hutchinson said, “Bring friends, bring signs, speak on Suzanne’s behalf. Every little bit helps. The more people who attend, the stronger the message to the zoning board and the town. Citizens united for a cause such as this are truly a formidable force. Your voices matter.”
