Purdue Extension:  Do You Need a Landscape Checkup?

The Marshall County Purdue Extension office and the Plymouth Public Library are hosting a three-evening series on managing homeowners’ landscapes.  The series will be held at the Plymouth Public Library 201 North Center Street in Plymouth.  The series title is “Landscape Check-Up Preparing for 2022” and will be held on Thursday evenings on October 7, 14, and 21 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

The goal of this program is to help owners to take the time to evaluate their landscapes, learn tasks that can be done in the Fall to prepare for the 2022 growing season, and discuss how landscapes can be improved and problems corrected. Landscapes should be designed to be maintained with reasonable effort and this will be addressed during this series. Do you have plants that should be retired due to age, size and maintenance requirements? Do you have invasive plants no longer recommended for landscapes?

There is no cost to participate in this series. The goal is to have a discussion on these topics, so please bring questions that you would like answered to the meeting. After the first session, we will encourage you to evaluate your landscapes and take pictures. Your evaluation can be shared with Robert Yoder, Extension Educator – ANR, and can be privately discussed.

To register for this program or have your questions answered, please call the Marshall County Extension Office (574) 935-8545 prior by October 6 or e-mail ryoder@purdue.edu.  You can also visit the Marshall County Facebook page at ww.facebook.com/marshallanr to learn about this program
