On Tuesday, September 21st just before 8 p.m. Plymouth Police Officers responded to the report of single vehicle crash into a utility pole near the intersection of West Jefferson Street and North Fifth Street.

The driver fled the scene of the crash on foot and was later located at the intersection of West Madison and Fourth Streets.

The driver, 51-year-old Russell Frantom III of South Bend was arrested for OWI and Leaving the Scene of a Crash.  He was lodged in the Marshall County Jial on a $1,500 cash bond and given an initial hearing of October 26th in Marshall Superior Court II.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
