A local family lost their home, and now a local government is threatening to remove them from their temporary residence.

Back in May, Suzanne Afolabi lost her family home to a fire. Her insurance company provide her with a temporary trailer, which the Town of Bourbon said violated local zoning codes. Afolabi was assured by the town that she would be able to get a variance to allow the trailer, but the variance never came. The family’s last chance to get a variance will be at the town meeting on October 11, 2021.

To support Suzanne Afolabi and her family, and to stand up against unfair government practices, the Libertarian Party of Marshall County, partnering with Libertarian Party of Indiana District 2 and Libertarian Party of Indiana, is holding a rally in Bourbon to gather support and raise awareness in the town. The event will be at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, September 29, at the Community Park in Bourbon.

LPIN State Chair, Evan McMahon, Libertarian Party of Marshall County Chair, Ty Shively, and Libertarian candidate for U.S. Senate James Sceniak will be speaking at the event. The event will also include food, live music, and a raffle.
