A Plymouth man was arrested by city police on Wednesday night for Domestic Battery.

Officers from the Plymouth Police Department were dispatched to the 600 block of Ferndale Street about 11:20 September 15th for a domestic disturbance. 

Arriving on the scene it was learned that the suspect had left the scene.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies located the suspect on U.S. 31 at 9A Road.

After further investigation, 32-year-old Steven Reid of Jackson Heights was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail.

Reid was booked on the charges of Domestic Battery in the presence of a minor and interference with reporting a crime.  He was held on a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
