On Saturday, September 11th, around 12:15 in the morning, Officer Ayala with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Departmet initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Olive Trail north of 11th Road.

During the course of the traffic stop the officer located drugs and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The driver, 21-year-old Mikayla Penrod of Plymouth was transported to Marshall County Jail where she was booked and lodged for Possession of Cocaine and/or Narcotic Drug, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia.

The passenger, 23-year-old Zakrey Early also of Plymouth was transported to the County Jail where he was booked and lodged for: Possession of Cocaine and/or Narcotic Drug and Possession of Paraphernalia. Both were given cash bonds of $1500. Penrod bonded out at 9:30 on Saturday and was given an initial hearing date of September 21st in Marshall Superior Court III.  Early will also appear in Superior Court III on the 21st of September. 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
