U.S. Representative Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) released the following statement on the continued withdrawal from Afghanistan, which has stranded thousands of Americans behind enemy lines.

“The situation on the ground in Afghanistan continues to get worse every day. Thousands of Americans remain stranded behind enemy lines and time is running out before the August 31 deadline dictated by the Taliban. It is inconceivable that the President of the United States is not only negotiating with terrorists – he is letting the Taliban call the shots,” said Congresswoman Walorski. “President Biden must get every American safely home and evacuate the vetted Afghan allies that served alongside our Armed Forces – regardless of the Taliban’s timeline. It’s shameful that the Biden Administration is allowing a terrorist organization to dictate the actions of the most powerful military in the world. Every one of the Biden Administration’s missteps further endangers lives and makes American communities more vulnerable to terrorism.”
