The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the driver who was killed in a crash late last week after rear-ending a semi-tractor trailer.
On Thursday, August 19, at 11:57 p.m., deputies with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department were called to the intersection of Aboite and Lafayette Center roads in Roanoke for a car crash involving a semi.
Deputies say the semi was rear-ended by a car and the driver was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead when he arrived.
The victim was identified as 41-year-old Andrew Philip Mitchell of Plymouth.
The cause of death was determined to be blunt force injuries due to motor vehicle versus semi-tractor-trailer-rig crash and the manner of death is an accident.
The crash remains under investigation by authorities in Allen County
