On Friday, August 20th, Plymouth eighth-grader Karli Crum competed in the Indiana State Fair baton twirling competition. Karli came home as the overall beginner strut, intermediate strut, and intermediate artistic twirl champion. She also earned first place in advanced presentation and second place in advanced artistic twirl and advanced solo.
In Karli had a great day with four no-drop routines in very hot and sticky conditions. Karli is a member of The Dolls baton twirling group in Plymouth where she twirls and helps teach the younger twirlers. She is coached by Brenda Minnich of Geneva, Indiana, and Alicia Dennie of Plymouth.
