The Marshall County Highway Department will chip and seal Lincolnway Highway from King Road to Elm Road on Wednesday, August 18th. Drivers are urged to avoid Lincoln Highway and use an alternative route as much as possible from 6:15 am to 3:30 pm.

During the chip and sealing process Lincolnway will be closed off from intersection to intersection. Once the chip and seal crew makes it to the closed intersection, traffic control will move up to the next intersection. Once complete, the crew will turn around and come back the other direction sealing the other side of the road.

Once completed, motorists should try to maintain a speed limit of 30 mph over the next 2 or 3 days. Traveling over 30 mph will cause stones to dislodge, flip up or bounce around causing them to flip up on passing vehicles. Motorcycles should try to avoid Lincoln Highway over the next 2 to 3 days.

Local residents, deliveries, school buses and emergency vehicles will be able to pass through as needed.
