The Marshall County Commissioners have called a special meeting for Wednesday, August 18th at 9 a.m. in the second-floor meeting room of the County Building.

The special meeting has been called to receive information on the Courthouse Clocktower Restoration project.  It’s anticipated Midwest Maintenance will present figures for the additional repairs that were uncovered as they began to remove the old paint in preparation for new paint.

While it was anticipated that some additional damage would be found, the extend of the rotten wood was extensive and all the wood from the top of the clock faces will need to be replaced.

During the budget hearing with the County Council last week, Commissioner Kevin Overmyer asked the council to appropriate another $1.5 million in the Rainy-Day Fund in the 2022 budget for the unknown cost.

The special meeting is open to the public and will be held in the second-floor meeting room of the County Building.
