The Indiana State Fair Commission held a groundbreaking ceremony Friday and announced the naming rights to the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion, a $50 million, 197,000 square foot, multiuse facility that will replace the almost century-old Swine Barn at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Event Center.
“We couldn’t be more grateful to Governor Holcomb, the Indiana General Assembly, and our corporate partner, Indiana Farm Bureau, for supporting this transformational project, said Cindy Hoye, Indiana State Fair Commission executive director. “This is the last of our major livestock buildings to be renovated and will help us bring even more compelling events, including large sporting events, to Indiana.”
The State Fair Commission aims to attract a variety of events to the pavilion, which is already slated to host the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championship. Construction will start after this year’s fair and will be completed in time for the 2023 Indiana State Fair. The new facility will be under construction during the 2022 Indiana State Fair, but plans are underway to host the Indiana State Fair 4-H and Open Swine Shows in another location on the grounds.
