The Marshall County Soil & Water Conservation District has fee food plot seeds available.
Food plots are small, planted areas set aside as supplementary food sources for wildlife. Depending on the type of seed planted, a food plot can provide food for deer, turkey, pheasants, birds and pollinators. A food plot should be located close to a source of cover for animals located away from roads.
This year Soil & Water are offering pollinator mix, an upland game mix, and wildlife sunflowers. All are available in gallon bags and will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Due to COVID restrictions you must call the Marshall County Soil & Water Conservation District Office a minimum of 30 minutes prior to pick-up.
Marshall County Soil & Water is in the USDA building at 2903 Gary Drive in Plymouth. Seeds can be picked-up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information check out their website at www.marshallcountyswcd.org, call 936-2024 extension 3 or email info@marshallcountyswcd.org.
