On Wednesday April 7th at approximately 12:02 P.M. the Marshall County Sheriff`s Department received a call in reference to a vehicle on the side of the roadway on Lincoln Highway near U.S. 31.
The caller further advised that a male subject was also with the vehicle and the male was acting, very nervous.
Marshall County Deputy Bragg responded to the area and located the vehicle and determined that it was stolen.
Deputy Bragg searched the area and located the driver identified 21 year old Gavin N. Jenkins of Rochester.
Jenkins was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was held on the charge of Possession of Stolen Property with bond set at $1,505.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
