City News PlymouthThe Plymouth City Council voted to go with Apheus Solutions of Plymouth for the live streaming of city meetings during their meeting on Monday.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi and the Mayor’s Assistant, Laura Mann meet with Bob Barcus of Apheus Solutions to discuss the options for streaming the various city meetings live. They found out that the quote from BIS of nearly $28,000 included many items they didn’t need to do a simply live-stream.

The quote from Apheus Solutions was $7,174 and includes two PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) cameras, a laptop to manage the live-stream and installation, setup and four days of training on the new equipment.

Councilman Don Ecker did have some concern that the camera may need electricity and there is none on the front wall to plug into.  The motion approved was for the quoted price with no additional expense to install electricty on the front wall.

This project could be funded with CARES-Act money and the city council felt the local quote was a more affordable option.
