Bourbon Water Tower_1The Bourbon Town Council approved the resignation of Mark Mosier from the Plan Commission and the BZA. It was noted that Mosier is moving out of the community. Plan Commission appointments are Amber Barnes and Susie Schaetzle. The Board of Zoning appointment was approved for Orion Lemler.

Steve Stacy, Water/Wastewater superintendent, informed the Bourbon Council that new meter installations will begin on July 27. Current meter readings will be made on the morning of the 27th as well. The total project is expected to take approximately 6 weeks. Those patrons who have meters inside of their homes will be contacted for installation times.  In response to COVID associated precautions, the council discussed having installers wear face masks and asking residents to wear face masks during the installations. Byers indicated that the town could provide residents with masks if necessary.

More information as it becomes available will be posted on the town’s Facebook site.

All of Bourbon’s town employees will now have job descriptions. Byers said each employee will be asked to sign a form indicating that they have received one.

In a previous meeting a body cam purchase for the Bourbon Police Department was approved. At this month’s meeting, the purchase of four safety vests was approved at a cost of $1,200. The vests will be available in each of the town’s police cars.
