The council continues their efforts to promote the Town of Bourbon. Council members, Les McFarland, P.J. Hanley and Ward Byers voted unanimously to enter into a month-to-month contract with Red Door Marketing at a monthly fee of $1,500 for branding, marketing and strategizing. Additionally, the council voted 3-0 in approval of the installation of corn hole boards in the community park. Council President Byers said the equipment will be stainless steel and Slabaugh Fabricating of Bourbon will be donating the boards. There was also a discussion about the possibility of providing pickle ball equipment in the future if they determine the interest from the community.
Street Department Superintendent Roger Terry reported that the splash pad has been repaired and is up and running.
