car-pedestrian-accidentThe Plymouth Police Department is investigating a personal injury accident that occurred at approximately 10:03 P.M. Wednesday evening on North Michigan Street near the U.S. 30 overpass between a vehicle and a pedestrian. In statements from witnesses and the driver of the vehicle, a pedestrian ran into the path of the vehicle without notice and without giving the driver any time to react. The witnesses were walking along North Michigan Street at the time of the incident. The driver of the vehicle identified as 74 year old, Thomas Hughes of Lapaz, was traveling northbound on Michigan St.
The pedestrian was airlifted to South Bend due to his injuries.
Plymouth Police Department was assisted at the scene by Plymouth Fire/EMS and Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident remains under investigation.
