Plymouth Water Tower Parkview 10-14-19_2During the COVID-19 public health emergency, Governor Holcomb has authorized local governments to hold board meetings virtually. To encourage social distancing while continuing to conduct the business of the City, Plymouth leaders have elected to utilize the Zoom webinar platform for board meetings.
The first use of this technology will be for the April 7, 2020, Plymouth Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals meetings. A small number of City staff members will be on hand at the City Council Chambers, 124 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, IN 46563 (Garro St. Entrance, Second Floor) where the meetings are usually conducted. The public will be permitted to attend and participate in the webinars in person, but attendees will be limited to no more than 10 people at any one time. All are strongly encouraged to participate virtually by computer, smart phone, or traditional telephone.
The smart phone user experience can be enhanced by downloading the free Zoom app. Webinar attendees using a computer or the smart phone app may ask questions of the board members by clicking the “raise hand” button and waiting to be called on to speak by the webinar administrator. Such users may also type questions or comments using the chat box function. Webinar attendees using the traditional telephone audio access may, similarly, “raise their hand” by pressing *9 on their phone’s keypad and waiting to be called on to speak by the webinar administrator. The meeting webinars will also be streamed on Facebook Live. However, any questions or comments posted on Facebook will not be monitored by the webinar administrator or addressed by the board members during the meeting
