On Wednesday, March 18th at 10:48 P.M. Deputy Laffoon with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle observed driving erratically in the area of 5th Road Mobile Home Park west of Michigan Road. The driver identified as 30 year old Ashley M. Berner of Plymouth did initially give a false name to Deputy Laffoon however was found to have never received a valid driver’s license.
Berner was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County where she was held on charges of False Informing and Operating a Vehicle without Ever Receiving a License with bond set at $255 bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
