Vote centerThe Marshall County Election board voted to move the vote center in Culver during their meeting Tuesday morning.

After spending a few days last month visiting every voting location in the county, the election board determined some changes that need to be made.  While most of them are minor, such as putting a new lock on a door for security of the machines and adding Handicap parking signs, one major change discussed was moving the vote center in Culver form the Depot to the Culver Community School Corporation Administration Building.

Election Board member Rick Huff said moving the location will avoid the interference with other activities at the depot such as the Farmers’ Market.

County Clerk, Deb VanDeMark said the facilities at the Culver School Admin building are “very nice.”  She noted that the two Saturdays before the election voting is conducted and they’ve had conflicts with the Farmers’ Market and other activities.

The Marshall County Election Board unanimously voted in favor to move the vote center in Culver to the School Administration Building beginning with the Primary on May 5th.

Signs will be posted at the Culver Depot notifying voters of the new location.
