Dancing With the Stars_logoOver the weekend, Chris Garner, Executive Director of the Marshall County Neighborhood Center released the fundraising results from Dancing With The Stars on February 8th.

Garner said, “It was an amazing night.”   She said there was a great team of people that put so much work in behind the scenes to make the event happen and be successful.  She went on to say, “We had fabulous dancers this year and they worked the votes.  They were out there working hard raising funds for the Neighborhood Center.  I’m so thankful for all the ways that they got creative and the hard work that they put in and the time that they gave up from their own busy lives to help the Neighborhood Center.”

The evening also includes a live auction which raised over $14,000.  Garner thanked those who donated great prizes including several trips.  She also thanked Swan Lake for the fabulous dinner and being great hosts for the event.

Garner said their fundraising efforts were the highest they have ever made in the 12 years the event has been happening.  The grand total was $123,113.71.

Chris Garner also explained the $2500 table sponsorship’s will go towards the building fund.  The Neighborhood Center has been working and saving money to make necessary ADA improvement to the current location and towards a potential new building that could be designed to meet the growing needs of the community and providing the space for new programs.  The total raised from the table sponsorship’s was $15,000.  She said she hopes they will be able to set aside additional funds from Dancing With The Stars for the purchase of a new property.

Garner closed her statement saying she is eternally grateful and blown away by the generosity of the community.
