Jaisyn Reese_1On Thursday, February 13th, the Lincoln Junior High School cheerleaders will be hosting a benefit fundraiser for Jaisyn Reese, a 7th grade student who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.

On January 16, the Reese family was devastated with the news that their 13 year old son had an inoperable tumor on the left side of his brain.  Because of where this tumor is located, the surgeons are not able to remove the tumor to see if it’s malignant or benign for fear it may do more harm than good.  Jaisyn is unable to return back to school, he won’t be able to play his trombone, he won’t be able to play baseball or football.  The family was told that the tumor is not very common and there’s not much they can do but keep him comfortable. Jaisyn is currently receiving treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, and he is expected to be there for several weeks.

The fundraiser will be held at Ponderosa Steakhouse from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Ponderosa owners, Tom and Carolyn Blackburn said “yes” as soon as the LJHS cheerleaders approached them about this fundraiser. Tom Blackburn said their three children attended Plymouth schools and they were happy to donate 10% of the total amount patrons spend on Thursday to Jaisyn Reese.

Anyone wanting to participate should print off the donation coupon and give it to Ponderosa when you dine in or carryout. 10% of your bill will go to the Reese family.

During the evening hours of 5-8 p.m., the Lincoln cheerleaders will be helping to serve you. Mr. Blackburn will also have a donation jar inside the restaurant as well and anyone can donate to Jaisyn Reese and his family.
