On Saturday, February 1st at approximately 4:30 P.M. Marshall County Officer Smith responded to the area of the 100 block of US 31 and US 6 in references to a possible impaired driver.
Arriving in area, Officer Smith located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver identified as 37 year old, Ashley Adams of Wabash was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Adams was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail on the charge of Operating While Intoxicated and held on a $1,505 bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
