Weather 2-4-20Marshall County Emergency Management Director Clyde Avery said there is good news from the National Weather Service on the anticipated winter weather expected to impact Marshall County this week.  He said, “It looks like the freezing rain and sleet will stay to the south of us and impact areas along and south of U.S. 24.”

A more significant weather system will impact our area Wednesday night, with 2-4 inches of snow expected.  No Advisories, Watches, or Warnings have been issued yet for our county by the National Weather Service.

Impact from the weather could see roads that will be snow covered slick and hazardous for the overnight hours on Wednesday and into early Thursday morning.  This could potentially lead to an increase in slide-offs and traffic accidents.

Drivers should slow down and allow extra time to reach their destination.  Increase your following distance. Drive defensively and be aware of the increased potential for hazardous road conditions due to ice and snow.
